VILLAGES OF BLOOMINGDALE PLAN FOR SECOND PHASE OF AMENITY CENTER RE-OPENING

Villages of Bloomindale CDD is actively monitoring the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact on our District amenities.  In accordance with the local governing authorities, following the guidelines from local and state authorities, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Florida Department of Health (FDOH), we have developed a plan for the second phase of re-opening the District’s Amenity Center.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, the fitness center will be re-opened. The second phase of the re-opening of the Amenity Center involves opening the fitness center to a limited capacity of three (3) individuals at a time and expanding the capacity of the pool usage to 50%, which equates to 40 individuals.  The hours of the pool will also be expanded back to the standard hours of 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday’s through Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The fitness center will operate with reduced capacities in order to meet the requirements of social distancing and staff availability.  The hours of the fitness center will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday’s through  Saturday’s and 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday’s.  The fitness center will be open to residents only.  No guests will be allowed.  The fitness center will be closely monitored by staff to ensure social distancing and other requirements are followed.  The use of the fitness center will be limited to three (3) residents at one time.  Staff will allow one resident to use the free weights at one time.  One treadmill will be turned off in order to allow for proper social distancing between the other two cardio machines.  If staff sees a high demand of use for the fitness center, then a sign-up system will be implemented allowing for scheduled workout periods and time limits.  Residents will also have to sign a waiver and answer questions in regard to having been in close contact with another COVID-19 person, whether they are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or sore throat and if they have had a fever in the last 48 hours.  If they answer “yes” to any of those questions, then they will be prohibited from entry into the clubhouse and the fitness center.  A staff member will be present in the office to sign in residents and monitor their usage.

We thank you all for your patience at this time and it is our hope that everyone remains safe, healthy and follows the guidelines for social distancing for the safety of our residents and staff.  The operating hours can change at any time based on recommendations of the local and state governing authorities.

Please review the following guidelines:

The Villages of Bloomingdale Community Development District is a local, special purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and created by ordinance of Hillsborough County as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities. A CDD provides the “solution” to Florida’s need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. Community Development Districts represent a major advancement in Florida’s effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a developer to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community’s facilities.
